Rugby league challenge cup final week

Leeds have been losing finalists so many times it brings me to tears. Lost the final last year. Lost the the final the year before that against Warrington. We drove home in the pissing rain in silence. We've been losing finalists most of the last five years, in fact it was nice of hull to give us a break last year. I travelled down in 94 where we nearly weren't bad and for a while I thought we'd beat wigan. Sadly wigan came out second half and hammered us. I travelled down 95 and we were awful. I went down for the 99 final but it was scant repay to beat shaun Edwards and Martin offiah in a London shirt. I went in 76 and saw us win against widnes then again the following year in a great final against saints. At that age, I thought we must win every year. That was the best leeds side ever until the current side now. With six grand finals we have ruled super league but somehow that challenge cup eludes. Up against Cas the casual observer will think they are underdogs. Far from it. Daryl Powell has assembled an amazing castleford team and if it was any other team than leeds, any other team, id be backing Cas. Cas, everyone's second favourite team. The crowd will be third leeds fans, third cas fans and a third neutrals for cas. I am always nervous in the weeks build up to a final. Yesterday's  trip to London didn't help. We should be able to field a reserve team and beat London broncos. A disgrace. It is an important one for this leeds side. The greatest leeds side ever. The gap in their trophy cabinet. Whether wanting it too much has put a hex on I dont know. it is far harder to win a grand final. You only have to beat a couple of decent teams then turn up on the day. To win a grand final you have to beat everyone often more than once. Come on leeds.
