Telstar

Brilliant film. I was in tears at the end. So much I never knew about Joe Meek and his importance to contemporary culture. The Phil Spectre of england. His work is still there for us to hear. His suicide, just three weeks before he would have been exonerated and given payment for 'Telstar', 3 million in todays money. The history of the sixties is so overshadowed by the Beatles legend that a figure of Meeks' importance gets overlooked. So much history is written by the winners and the tragedy is our cultural loss.
