Haye proves his salt

Aside from all the bragging and the curious David and Goliath victory that won Haye the WBA title there had been doubts amongst most fight fans as to whether David Haye was a true champion. The WBA belt is the hardest to keep, the most honest judges, and tonight many who rarely watch the sport thought that Ruiz was an easy fight. Truth be told he s the veteran of 11 now 12 world title fights, several against greats and a twice world champion. Haye, ideall would have ducked this fight, normally a new champ gets an easy first defence. Haye hasn't been so fortunate. This was a real battle, Ruiz never gave up and when his corner through in the toel in the 9th round he was disappointed to not be allowed to continue though this was the wisest course of action. Haye fought a blistering first round, flooring Ruiz twice. This took a lot out of him. The 2nd saw Ruiz regai composure. The rest of the fght saw a deteriorating Ruiz fortified by his experience and ring craft gradually sccumb to the more powerful Haye. No one can deny him the right to wear the belt now. The question is now, which Klitshko brother dare fight him? The sport of boxing needs a crow pulling heavyweight champion and it has one now. Haye for unification.
