Sadly the annual cheese roll and downhill race chace has been cancelled. Gloucestershires famous event has outgrown its home. Organisers said ' the attendance of the event has outgrown the location where it has been heald for several hundred years, last year more than 15000 people tried to attend which is more than 3 times the sites capacity. It seems sad that this historic and peculiarly English event should be stopped, not because of the regular casualties but brcause of the ammount who want to watch. The site is , of course sacred so moving the ewvent is out of the question but surely there must be a way , with modern technology to big screen it live as it happens as is often the case at England football games where demand foor tickets is greater than ticket allocation.
