When your lifes in a mess, take the National Express

Hanging round Victoria coach station I met a great young lad. Leon Fender Walker. A musician who had travelled down seeking funding (successfully) from thr Joe Strummer Trust. He'd fallen in to bad ways, drugs and gangs. There is little to aspire to in the Yorkshire town he i from. Finding himself in Doncaster Jail, he met Billy Bragg who is running a fantastic guitars in prisons project. He had the evangelical zeal that onl ex junkies seem to have, an inclusive enthusiasm and a positivity for life that comes only from us fish who have swam at the bottom and resurfaced. His CD is professional looking, showing him outside Doncaster jail, produced by Gran Showbiz. Check him out on Yo Tube.
A long, tiring journey that spat me out in Frome.
