Floating Island

An artwork created by Sarah Cockings was, is a floating island; much like contemporary science fiction films and 70s painter Roger Dean enjoy was saboutaged by an elite body of five. The Floating Island was a helium filled chunk of earth in the sky. The team hit at 3am at a garden party in Cambridgeshire and cut the ropes that heald it fixed aloft, two had to sail a dingy to cut a tether fixed in a lake. Sarah is devastated as her chunk of art floats off. 'I guess it could be deamed a publicity stunt', she says, 'but sadly, it is not...it's gutting.' Surely this 'vandalism' has added to its' legend. It is believed to be somewhere over Czechovachia. She says it cost £12000 yet as soon as she mentioned money, it halved in value for me.. But then again, I didn't pay for it.
So if you see a floating island over Eastern Europe, contact Sarah, she wanted to reshow it at the Burning Man Festival. I can't think how to catch it, a roped arrow may deflate the whole thing.
