Tottenham Riot

What do we know? A black boy, perhaps with a fake gun, was cornered in a minicab by a hoard of police baring sophisticated weapons. Some say he went on a mad attempt at a shoot out, against his character and all likelyhood as an display of a gun is well known to be suicide in Britain. Other, more believable observers say the police had him on hs back and shot him twice, point blank in the face. The police refused to tell family and partner what had happened. His mother can not tell his children what happened. The family and freinds warned the police that tensions were running high and that their peaceful protest would be hard to contain unless a seniour officer came to tell the public the situation. By nightfall no policeman appeared to prevent the innevitable. The riot that ensued, as all do have many bad aspects. Small buisnesses were destroyed, property burnt to the ground, looting by opportunist criminals. The polices refusal to explain their execution? murder? of a young and popular man
